People want to know which political party is in favour of independence.
Currently (2021) the Scottish Green Party and the Scottish National Party support Scottish independence. There are other minor political parties who also support independence, including Action for Independence, Alba, Restore Scotland, Scottish Democratic Alliance, Scottish Socialist Party, and Solidarity.
The parties are bound by a shared belief in Scottish independence, and the deal reinforces their intent to secure a second referendum. But they are each free to develop their own vision of independence because they have different perspectives on what an independent Scotland would look like
As the UK slowly emerges from the pandemic, a constitutional clash between supporters of Scottish independence and Johnson’s UK government looks a distinct possibility.
